Wyze periodically updates the Wyze app and the camera firmware to add features and fix bugs. You can subscribe to our email newsletter at the bottom of this website to get updates when we release new software.
The best way to keep your Wyze app up to date is to set your Wyze app to update automatically. This is done through a setting on your phone or tablet. You can see what version of the app you are using in the Account tab of the Wyze App by tapping About.
Firmware is the software that runs on the camera itself. It is important to keep your camera’s firmware up to date so that it can function properly and enable new features as they are released. You will be prompted to update your camera’s firmware when there is a new version available. You can also check what version of firmware your camera has installed, and if there is a new version available through the Wyze app.
To check and update your camera’s firmware:
Remove any microSD cards from your camera before attempting to perform a firmware upgrade.
- iOS devices: Tap into your camera’s Live Stream from the Devices tab then tap the Settings icon > Device info > Check update. If there is a new version of the firmware available you will see an Upgrade button at the bottom of the screen. Tap that button to update your firmware.
- Android devices: Tap into your camera’s Live Stream from the Home tab then tap the Settings icon > Device Info. At the end of the list, there is a section for Firmware Upgrade. Your current version will be listed on the right. If there is an upgrade available, you will see an Upgrade button. Tap that to update your firmware.
